Are you asking about 6-3 (3 total conductors) or 6-3 with ground (4 wires total)?
.....Does it matter?
Theres a difference between 6/3 and 6/3 with ground, isn't there?
Have you ever seen 6/3 without a ground?
I'm with 480 I have seen it also. It was on a range install from the 70's. When I first saw it I thought some one cut the ground out:-?. After striping the sheath back some, no ground. 1-blk 1-red 1-wht
6/3 without ground was often used for ranges.Have you ever seen 6/3 without a ground?
6/3 without ground was often used for ranges.
So I guess it really don't matter after all.![]()
Still allowed if it is an existing installation, under certain conditions. 250.140 (2002 NEC)Sure does. 3-wire connections are no longer allowed.
Sure does. 3-wire connections are no longer allowed.
I have also seen 6/3 no ground, it was cloth covered. Very easy to strip!
