About Conduit Offset Limit

Dear All,

Our specs restricted conduit bending as minimum two 90 degree bend or equivalent but don't say anything about offsets like below. Could you please tell me that there is a restriction at NEC for offsets?

That's a 3 point bend aka "saddle" We consider it a 90 degree bend. The only restriction of bends or offsets that I know of is 360 degrees between pull points.

That's two 30 degree bends, so it would count as 60 degrees of bends.

If you make it up with a 45 and two 22.5 degree bends, it is a net of 90 degrees of bend.

If you make it up with lesser bends then it will have a net of less than 90.

Many of us were taught how to make them with a 45 and two 22.5's but you can make them with less bend, and about have to if you want a tight fit when crossing a small obstruction.

So your specs are for half the allowed degrees in the NEC. 180 v 360.
