Aluminum for new circuits.

btw, they are making 10 copper clad aluminum. Not sure what company but they were at a fair a few years ago and had some with him. They were showing how you can use #10 for a water heater but they failed to mention that it had to be on a 25 amp overcurrent protective device . I had a discussion with someone because they thought you could use a 30 amp device....

Btw, 25 amp is fine for a residential water heater in most cases
 
10/3 Romex is $1.62/ft
6/3 SER is $.95ft

2/3 Romex is $15/ft
1/3 SER is $2/ft

6al xhhw is $.20ft
8cu then is $.80ft


I could run 7 100a subfeeds in aluminum for the cost of one 100a copper subfeed. You have to be insane to be pulling copper if aluminum is an option right now.
