I was wondering if there was a fire rating issue with using NM in walls that will be sheathed with OSB on the interior. I know there is supposed to be a 15 minute finish rating but am unsure if this is even a issue. Thanks!
OSB panels made by member mills of the SBA meet
the maximum flame spread requirements of the National
Building Code of Canada or the U.S. Model Code
requirements for interior wall and ceiling finish.
The 15 minute rating only applies to "other than dwelling unit"
What is this?
What would a detached shop/garage be classified as? Pole construction.
Thanks for that chart M.D. Unfortunately I dot my i's and cross my t's. Sometimes to much I think.
Depends where it is,.. in Massachusetts if it is an accessory to a dwelling good to go with nm. In 2011 it will also most likely be alright with the NEC
