Re: Apprentice Shopping List
I have 2 different wire strippers in my tool pouch. One of them is the actual wire strippers which has the stripping holes between the jaws. Wire stripping holes between the handles does not work. However, it just is NOT a good crimper for #22 to #10 wire.
The other pair of "strippers" is what I use for cripming. It is no good for wire stripping.
I also have 2 different sizes of beat up or cheap Chinese screwdrivers fo doing knockouts and locknuts.
My attitudes about buying Cheap Chinese tools are:
1. Chinamen need to eat too.
2. The best way to bring democracy and freedom to China is to show them what a little bit of capitalism and freedom will do for them. Then, they will demand more.
3. The steel in Chinese tools rusts less than a lot of American made tools that I have had. A good grade of steel without any surface coating rusts less than aluminum. The reason why manhole covers, locomotives, railraod rails, dump trucks, garbage trucks, yada yada have alomost zero rust is because they are made of better steel.
A better grade of steel does not really cost that much extra since some people are willing to pay for it. However, a car that takes 50 years to rust away like railcars do would be "bad for business".
