Does that kit work on mud rings?
:D :D :D

Nope, gotta use frozen mud to calculate volume for mud rings. That or I'll provide you with my patented Water Leakage Prevention Membrane. It comes in handy 20' rolls with a convenient serrated membrane size selection device, stored in a biodegradable, 50% post-consumer recycled content cardboard box and uses the Water Leakage Prevention Membrane Affixing Device in 25' rolls with an attractive gray color and cloth reinforcement.

For you, $100 for a single kit, $150 if you buy two.

Don't delay, order today.

Well in the real world box fill is correct if you can get the cover on. But its important to know the what and why.

Just got in from a service call. Bathroom light trips GFCI recept. Opened GFCI box. 118 plastic box w/ 1-12/3 + 3-12/2 + GFCI device (bummer). I felt like a surgeon getting it all back in the box but with a little patience it all fit. I will probably be back to install an extension cover or box next week if the owner doesn't chicken out (didn't have one on the truck today).

That is why one of our instructors told us we should carry a hammer with rubber handle, easier to shove all that into a undersized box.

Unfortunately we have all seen this ?optional box fill method? out in the field. Did anyone see the ?Box Fill Calculations? series in Electrical Contractor Magazine? The 12 part series, in the ?In Focus? column, ran from July 2004 to June 2005. With dozens of illustrations, this could help when teaching box fill.

Mr. Miller , since I noticed you have but 2 posts and a join date of Jan 2007, may I be so bold as to welcome you to the Mike Holt Code Forum? I am a big fan of your books and articles. I wish the code book had the same orginization as your guide book does. That would simplify things greatly, however I also realize that it would mean you wouldn't have any market if it did do so. Anyway, welcome

Thanks macmikeman for welcoming me to the forum and thanks for the compliment on my books and articles. About eight years ago, a friend told me the NFPA wanted to make the NEC user friendly by the year 2050. He also said he didn?t think it would happen. Until the Code is no longer difficult to read and understand, I am not worried about not having a market for my books.
