I'll be upgrading an electrical service in the next week or so. The current breaker panel is flushed into a wall in a finished area of a basement. Apparently, over the years, the only way to add circuits to this panel was to run a PVC up the side of the house to the attic and enter the cabinet through the back (not necessarily through factory made knock-outs). My new panel will have to accommodate these cabinet entries as they come down in specific areas of the siding.
Are the current panel entries in violation ? Can I install my new breaker panel to accommodate these existing conduits or will I have to make some type of corrections before I install ?
Suggestions are welcome. Code references would be appreciated. AHJ is currently out of town.
Thanks in advance,
Phil
