Ceiling fan boxes

What's a "screw gun bracket"?

The one I use is the caddy TSGB-16.

I use metallic boxes with these also on 4gg and up.

I also use them with steel boxes for outlets when they need to be centered under a window or above countertops when I want an exact dimension on either side. I also use them for receps inside of a cabinet with a 1” plaster ring to ensure the cabinet installers cut the box out correctly. Keeps you from having to use a plastic box extender also to meet code requirement for less than 1/4” between box and finish material.

Another good use is for under-cabinet Lighting & Power strips to quickly get the wires in the right spot and strap them down. Here’s a pic of how I typically use them; you can see all the steel boxes with deep rings for an inside the cabinet install.

I've used the caddy tsgb16 and tsgb24 brackets and hotels where the rooms are mirror images of each other and boxes would wind up directly back to back if mounted on the studs. Since we always put in 1900 boxes for low-voltage, this was very little added expense, especially compared to framing out kicks off of the studs ourselves so the boxes would not be directly back to back.

Regarding boxes set in concrete, wouldn't the concrete itself pretty much ensure the box would never fall? I realize you still have 8/32 screws vs 10 - 32 or 24, but I have never seen a metal box with bent ears or screws ripped out from it from the weight of any ceiling fan.
