I was in an area doing make ready engineering. while speaking with the contractor, we had a difference of opinion on clearence from the running neutral on the pole. Because it is associated with the primary lines, the proper clearence should be 6 feet. His thinks that it is 4 feet with the 6foot clearence is to the hot lines. I don't have a copy of the NEC book with me and tried to fing the info on the internet but all the sites wanted me to purchase a copy.

Thanks

If these conductors are on utility owned poles than it is unlikely the NEC applies at all.

You would need to look at the NESC.

thanks Bob, I did mean to say NESC, sorry. I'm still looking for the answer

Oh, no problem.

Someone will likely have the answer, I have to get of my rear and buy a copy of the NESC.

I am a little confused by your statement. You say the proper clearance should be 6 Ft. 6ft to what? Is this spacing between the primary conductor and neutral? Is it ground clearance?
