I got a new monitor and need to reset resolution to 1680/1050. Nothing in the manual. Went to Start, Settings, Display and don't see it. where is it?

Thank you,
Chris

Does your new monitor even support that setting?

It could be your video card does not support the settings

Thanks for the post and PM's. Could one of you people put a teenager on line here for me.

This thing looks great (you all look bigger, smarter, and more important now!), but this resolution notice keeps popping up. I'll work it out, Thanks again.

You might need to download a new driver for your video card to support the new monitor or may have to buy a new video card.

I concur. A new driver is needed. Do a google search.

Chris-- Try going to My computer and select "System" Then choose the Hardware setting, then device manager. Go down to monitor and double click. Probably says plug and play and double click that. Choose driver then update driver. Then select yes. If you are lucky it will find a driver for you.

Ok, I'm already set to that. This thing looks great so it could just be a set-up default message.

How can I check what the resi is set at?

Sorry to ask a completely different question. I got an Ipod and I have a pc. I need Service Pack2 now. Last time I tried to load SP2 I lost the entire hardrive. Any thoughts on how to safely install this or am I returning an Ipod?

Is this an X.P. machine? What do you mean lost your hard drive and how did you try to load the service pack?:-?

Chris, what operating system are you using? Vista? XP? If you don't know, right click the "my computer" icon on the desktop, and go to properties. In the box that pops up you will see your "system" information displayed. That will tell you your operating system. Please indicate all of the information displayed.

OMG! Its worse than I thought! ME was the probably the worst operating system in Microsofts history. There were major compatability issues. I wouldn't be surprised at all if ME wouldn't support that resolution, but I'm not sure.
