Yes, you may run t-stat or communication cable thru the same bored hole. Can you, usually? Probably not, at least on commercial jobs. The NEC here is permissive, but hardly practical: the comm cable (and t-stat) will not be going the same places as the electrical, the holes wont be where you need them, and if they are, they will be too small or already firestopped.
