Good point on marking of (3) #3/0 but you are pulling something else, I don't know the answer to that one though.

This an issue as the code does not give us any guidance as how or even if we can do a calculation for other combinations of wire sizes.

Was just havin fun.

Usually in my case often is 2 #4AWG in a raceway. There are a lot of crop drying fan motors installed around here that are single phase rated anywhere from 12-16 HP. Not listed in tables in 430. Based on nameplate current they need 4AWG minimum conductors.

I'm sure usually for you is at least 4 conductors in the raceway maybe even 5. I've run into those jobs also.
