cost to install Radon Mitigation Fan

had couple of quotes done recently in Ottawa in the range of $2500-3000 for a radon mitigation fan that cost no more than $300

For anyone done one recently how much did it cost? The labor seems extremely high.

Also is it best to have run it on a timer or 24/7?
