Much like this forum....there always seems to be too much talking about a minor point
It's too true  A half mile hole in the ground over a mosquito.

typically the em are night lights (and along with exits) are fed by a separate MC (and often on a sep circuit)
Don't get me wrong...it's not a bad thing...it's just not al dente.
Not always.
I learned a long time ago to sprinkle qualifier terms into almost everything posted here. typically, often, usually, not always, etc serve you well too I see.
I'm just curious how "They" would justify
a fixture as a "Raceway" when you have a unswitched Battery back up and a
"Switched" ballast fed from the same circuit? It is the same as "Daisy-Chaining" light fixtures.
I don't know who "they" are. When "they" post and identify themselves "they" can ask their Q's like everyone else.

Good night guys:smile:
As long as the MC is not laying on the grid. those caddy wire clips work well.
Depends on the distance.

Q. Can Type MC cable be installed from fixture to fixture without support above a suspended ceiling?
A. Type MC cable can be run unsupported where the cable is not more than 6 feet long from the last point of cable support to the point of connection to a luminaire within an accessible ceiling 330.30(D)(2). Type MC cable fittings are permitted to be used as the last means of cable support
I hate those duplex connectors, I've had to go back behind so many people fixing shorts from improperly installed ones.
Different rough vs trim crews?
Too long tails on the whips cause the layout always gets changed?
The two MC cables not tied and supported to each other (4-6"?) above the duplex?
Heated, if not hot...
My coworker was running a job in which he daisychained 2x2's and recieved a fine from the fire marshal because it was not box and whip...mind you it was in a bank, with 20 ft acoustic ceilings, 25 ft fire rated ceiling where boxes would have been mounted...see a problem if theres a loose wirenut?
