Did you look up the manufacturers instructions for the MC you're using? That's where I'd start....

Perhaps in RI, and I have seen it in job specs but as a general rule no.

We use die cast offten with fire alarm MC, there are very few steel duplex MC connectors available.

I have always used the quick lok steel duplex.
