Direct Burial question

Is 2-2-2-4 made or common for direct burial? It's a greenhouse, 60 amps. My supply house thought it was a special order. I will probably do conduit but of course the owner wants cheap as possible.

Yes, it's common and available. It's often referred to as "Mobile home feeder" since it has 4 conductors. Any decent supply house should have it.

Why #2 for a 60A feeder? Voltage drop?

If not and the load is 55A or less you could use #6 4W UF.

2-2-4-6 mobile home feeder is so common it is usually cheaper. I use it all the time even if I don't need ninety amps worth of wire.

Yes, what they said. It's dirt cheap, lightweight and it's already phase identified. It's a no brainer to use it in situations like this.
