Could someone please help me find where in the code i could find all i would need to know about a detached shed. As far as is it okay to use nm cable or do all metal enclosures have to be weather proof.

334.10(3).
Under the current NEC a shed in the yard is not a dwelling unit, that means it is a 'other structure' and must have a 15 minute finish rating if you want to use NM.
iwire said:I know that has been the norm but unless the shed is a dwelling unit the changes in the 2005 NEC make exposed NM in a shed a violation.

iwire said:Yes, but MA is just a little tiny corner of the US.
