Disconnect before service meter

We have disconnect switch after Service meter of 480 V service. Is additional disconnect is required before service meter? as per NEC230.71(C)

Disconnects ahead of the meter may or may not be a POCO requirement in your area. They are not required by the NEC

Note that if the switch does not have over current protection, you will need an overcurrent protective device immediately adjacent to the disconnect

Is the disconnect before or after the meter? A meter disconnect is permitted by the NEC but not required. As stated the service disconnect rules are unchanged whether there is a meter disconnect or not.

It’s called “cold sequence metering” it is usually required by the poco on smaller 480 volt services.
