Disposal Swicthes

I think the plungers on each end are fairly air tight, good enough to hold it 'on' long enough for use. I don't think I ever used a disposal for more than 30sec.

I'll soon know how long the momentary can stay on.

We have a hot tub with air actuated switch to turn jets on. One time my wife was having trouble turning them off - she was pushing the button too slowly and probably not creating enough pressure to actuate the switch. This thing does have some age to it and maybe is leaking more air then it maybe once did though.

Air leak button side, my guess. Maybe a crack in the tubing.
But, the problem you describe would be for both on/off and momentary switches, and at that point a repair would be made.

I got the momentary switch and it holds on just fine with about 1/4 to 3/8" of button push.

It is not a problem with my hot tub, unless you press button too slowly. It is an "on/off" switch, all it needs is enough pressure to actuate it, pressing too slowly, maybe there is enough wear in the button assembly it doesn't build pressure like it used to. I know I have replaced the switch and the tubing before, button is still original AFAIK. I was not first owner of this tub, I had repaired it many times with the previous owner (my in-laws) so I have been around it for many years.
