He needs the twistlock anyway, but you have it backward. The 6-20R has the "T" to accept either 6-20P or 6-15P plugs.

Correct, the standard 20 amp receptacle has a T slot for either 15 or 20 amp plugs. I got the -15 and -20 mixed up. :slaphead:

Note that they did not appear to call the 240 two phase.
It may not be standard in the US, but using that symbol to indicate 208 derived from two line conductors of a 208Y/120 three phase four wire source is not unreasonable.

Elsewhere in the world, feeding something with two "hots", as in "2-out-of-3 phases" is referred to as "2 phase". That's because in those places, they don't have to contend with the fact that true "2 phase" distribution systems exist as they do here (in Philadelphia and a few other places). Since we DO have that possibility, we don't use the term "2 phase" to describe anything but those rare old installations and "2-out-of-3 phases" is referred to as "single phase" power.
