Hello-
I have searched the forum and reviewed the code several times, and I am still not 100% sure how to size the feed for an elevator.
The elevator I am dealing with is 480V, 3PH, FLA=34A, Full Load Accel. = 80A, and a duty of 2,500. I have no clue how to use the duty number... And when reviewing the sizing for the feeder I have mixed feelings whether to treat it as a regular motor (feeder =125% of FLA, in this case Accel. FLA) or 200% based on table 430.22(E) of the NEC 2002. Can anyone clarify for me either where to look or what is meant by the code?
Thank you,
John
