I've got a psych ward which is part of a hospital. I've included 2 duplex receptacle at each bed; 1 on normal, 1 on critical.
Because it's a psych ward, power plugs for the bed can only be 2 feet long. As luck would have it, my receptacle that can be reached by this short cable is on the side of the bed that my normal receptacle is on.
517.33 indicates that normal patient room beds must be on critical.
I don't see any way out of relocating my critical branch receptacle to side of the bed near the bed's power connection. By all means let me know if you disagree with that.
But my other concern is that if I do move the critical branch receptacle, I would like to leave the normal branch where it is, leaving me with both receptacles on the same side of the bed. I don't believe that's a problem but I wanted to double check.
Thanks for your input.
