A store front has two show windows each 15' long. What is the minimum amount of receptacles permitted?
4 receptacles, 2 per window
210.62 Show Windows. At least one receptacle outlet
shall be installed within 450 mm (18 in.) of the top of a
show window for each 3.7 linear m (12 linear ft) or major
fraction thereof of show window area measured horizontally
at its maximum width.
Wouldn't that just require 1 per window since the windows are 15' long and the requirements are 12' or major fraction therof? 15-12=3', 6'+ would be major fraction of 12'
I thought it would mean the major fraction of a foot.
Do not know whether you worded that verbatim, but it should be minimum number of receptacles required, not permitted.A store front has two show windows each 15' long. What is the minimum amount of receptacles permitted?

I agree. One per window. 15 ? 12 = 1-1/4. The fractional part has to be greater than 1/2 for another to be required.Since 12 linear feet is the requirement, I think they mean major fraction of 12'.
That is also what the handbook shows.
