so the five local prices i had were......

19,500 (mine. duh. dummy. duh. nevermind...)
21,000
21,400
21,750
34,800

it's a tough market here. 21,400 looks about right
for the area, and the time. people are cutting their
prices as we speak.

My number also included tax [7% ~ NJ] and markup at 1.75%.
I don't know what the tax is for you, but the markup could be adjusted a bit.

How many man-hours do you figure on the rough?

it isn't real, and they aren't housewives. sorry to shatter the illusion.

the term "New Porsche Biach" was coined here, however.
It is real. It's called "Real Housewives of Orange County". I mean I'm sure some of the people "ham" it up a bit knowing that they are on camera, but it is real. My wife even says so. :)

let me rephrase that. "nothing" here is real.

the show reflects that. new porsche biach is completely surreal.
the women aren't real. dow corning, that is real. what is real is
a passel of middle aged fear driven women going under the knife
more than a tuna at a sushi bar, willing to do anything to be 23.

let's be clear here. any city that has TWO ferrari dealerships within
1 mile of them, and the worlds largest laborghini dealership 3 miles from
that, is unreal. i pulled into the carwash i use, and there were 2
brand new lamborghini's and an aston martin getting pre delivery
detailing.

that is unreal. so are some of the people. i've done work for them.
psycho suziee' from balboa island... i should post .wav files of her
messages she left on my voicemail. eleventeen pounds of crazy in
a five pound bag.

real is people with quiet eyes, not spending money they don't have
on things they don't need to impress people they don't know.
the eyes are the best indicator. when you quote something for
someone with crazy eyes, and "gotta have it" bling in their dialogue,
double the price. and get 50% up front.

hope this clears up what i thought i meant.:D

randy

it's ok tho... we make up for it by paying 50 cents more a gallonfor gas, and three times as much for houses.... so it all evens out.any extra money is absorbed by the highest state tax, except possibly
mass. not sure on that one.

Surprisingly Massachusetts didn't even make the top 10 in this study. California did of course, with a bunch of other northeastern states. Big surprise.

aha. I think I understand what you meant now. :)

similar. We've been working on a large resi project like this

Looks like the rest of the guys were thinking 1.10 to 1.20 for pita-

1.10 - $20,308.20

1.15 - $21,231.30

1.20 - $22,154.40

Steak?or well dressed hotdog?

I was thinking $25,846.80 for my bid, but that 's just me:), Must to have room to trim fat, and look tough if I'm hungry.

there is a huge amount of enriques, pablo's, and so forth in this area.
licensed? nope? insurance? nope. cheap. yep.

keeps the prices down.

Is it possible to bid this job cheap and then use some of these Enriques and Pablos to help you out? I know California licensing laws are pretty convoluted after all.

The rules should be the same in CA. Contractors must have workers comp. to exploit any slaves. Once covered, you must provide transportation, food, & water, since they don't carry lunches or drivers licenses.

With Cal Lab Codes ? 3351 & 3352(h) however, owners have an advantage, since they are exempt from workers comp. during their first 52 hours of work, over 90 days.
So, every 6 days owners driving by Hoolio Depot simple choose a different Hoolio or Pablo.

seems like having 130 plugs in a house but only needing 30 of them to be arcfaulted is a bit of a low figure under nec 2008.
But it's late in the year (central time)

OK enough, considering this thread has talked about 'politician shopping', 'enriques', 'pablo's', 'Porsche biach's', 'slaves', being replaced by foreign labor and the government, the thread is all done here.

Folks, we need to try to stay at least remotely on topic.
