Readout on generator shows a little over 62hz, is this anything to worry about?

Its 10kw, manual switching for some circuits, including refrig, freezer, air conditioner, lights

Suggests the governor isn't doing it's job, but most of the loads shouldn't care. (Or the readout is wrong...)

What are you reading frequency with, analog or digital meter?

Your motors will turn a little faster, but it's no cause for alarm. Tight frequency control is only required when there's more than one generator connected to the same grid. Synchronous clock motors, some digital clocks (that use line frequency for their time reference), and some of the clocks embedded in electronic gadgets will run fast and need to be reset.

I've never checked frequency with meter, this was display on (cheap) generator, can scroll through volts, hz, hours runtime

Customer furnished generator so its not my problem if there is a problem but sounds like no problem

I agree, might even run just shy of 60 if well loaded or be all over the place (within some tolerance band) when load is not steady. Smaller the "flywheel" the harder it is to maintain a steady frequency when load changes, which is a part of reason why utility frequency is very stable compared to smaller sources.

"undercook" by a couple of seconds per minute, that's not going to make a difference. As for salmonella- look at the temperature, not the cooking time.
