We are installing a 350kw generator outside an office building.
A circuit breaker is installed on the generator.
The generator has an enclosure with lockable doors.
According to 702.11 the disconnect needs to be readily accessible. According to the definition of readily accessible, behind a locked door is compliant.
My question is does the disconnecting means or the generator need to be within sight of the building?
The way I see it the first half of the sentence is refering to an outdoor housed generator. So as long as the generator is within sight of the building an additional disconnect is not required.
