Our inspectors test the t poles for proper gfci oeration and will tag it if the gfci doesn`t trip,they usually issue a correction no fee as apposed to a $30.00 red tag

Progress makes a line of trims for recessed cans that look like surface mount fixtures. They can be used in showers also, as they are wet location listed, and will take a 75w Par 30.

Over here in the Cleveland, Ohio area electrcians are still installing service weatherheads underneath the point of attachment. That was supposed to have been outlawed in 1978 or something like that because stranded wire acts as a poor excuse for a water hose. Compact stranded is an even poorer excuse for a water hose.
This past Monday I saw a 277Y480 volt service installed in 2004 with both the attachment insulator and the SPLICES above the weatherheads. When I fill up the disposable camera with photos and get around to posting it on my website I will let you know.
My website has photos of a service that Cleveland Public Power built that has 16 violations in it! I am tired of my work having to be more Code than theirs not to mention that they do electrical services and house rewires for FREE! How the h#!! do I compete? What I mean by that is that they build the entire service, meter, service panel and what have you for FREE! Nobody cares that they ground services correctly only 2 out or 3 times.
My website is http://home.earthlink.net/~mc5w . Some of the violations are hard to see but I have seen a lot of lag screw insulators that pulled off people's houses this past winter.

You know, you can't just use the part of the Code that you want to use and ignore the rest. The exception states, "Where it is impracticable to locate the service head above the point of attachment, the service head location shall be permitted not farther than 600 mm (24 in.) from the point of attachment."
From looking at the picture, it looks like it is indeed impractical to locate the service head above the point of attachment and that it is within 24 in. of the attachment. On top of all that, a nice drip loop has been formed. Would someone please tell me what the problem is with this installation?

BTW, I can't imagine the P-Knob is held with just the vinyl siding. I am guessing that the screw has just messed up the siding a bit when it was installed. If just the siding were holding the insulator, it would come down.
