H.P to Volt amps

what would the equivalent volt amperes be for the following motors

1/4 hp
1/3 hp
1/2 hp

Using 746 watts/1hp does not seem to yield the proper answer.

These three values were listed on a worksheet that my nephew has from an electrical class he's taking at the local skill center.

There was no other info offered other than these are 120V motors.

What you are missing for finding actual input power is efficiency and power factor.

per NEC however you use tables at end of art 430 for standardized motors listed there - they go by worst case efficiency/power factor motors you are likely to find for determining minimum conductor ampacity.
