The code is no part of a hanging light allowed in a 3 ft horizontal and 8 feet vertical zone above a tub or shower. What about above 8 feet above the tub rim ? Is that ok ? Thank you.

As long as no part is within the zone you mentioned it is fine.

General rules, no. Certainly not from 210.8, unless supplied by a receptacle for some reason.
