Plus like I stated before they’re probably thinking everyone’s using UF as soon as you use a conduit or something like that you’re in a different ballpark
UF would mean you need conductor sized per 60C rating and 8 AWG is too small for 50 amps.

But 10 AWG is still fine by NEC for the EGC if overcurrent device is 25-60 amps.
They probably want a #6 EGC because they feel (right or wrong) that the larger size is more robust and resistant to physical damage.
Is usually already protected by a raceway though.
 
Yes, that’s why they’re requesting number six UF but if you pull THHN you’re good at number eight hence a smaller size wire those pool manufacturers just slam their heads on the floor and produce hot tub

Of course, if they’re using you UF, your equipment grounds already gonna be undersized anyway there’s no way of pulling it so does every Hot Tub that has UF a violation then according to this manufacturer

I’m not gonna comment anymore because it’s just a pet peeve about hot tubs. They make no sense.
