House & Garage separate meters.

House & Garage separate meter's. Need a three way between them.
One of them is going to have power from a source other then their own meter.
Single family home , HO would like to turn the power to the light on from either location.
Y'all ever do these, and how do you make it code compliant?

If they're on the same transformer it will. There's probably a code-compliant way to hardwire it, but I'm not smart enough to know what it might be.
 
Okay I got it. Thanks I should have thought of that. It will save on wire , too.

I done a google image search on x 10 and I got the Manhattan Project. I added the word switch behind it and got this and many more.

No, X10 is a "powerline carrier" type of transmission. In other words, it sends the signals in bursts on the zero crossings of the AC sine wave. Clear as mud?

That's right. It was started by BSR of turntable fame. I still have a couple of BSR-branded modules around here somewhere.

X10 was developed in 1975 by Pico Electronics of Glenrothes, Scotland, in order to allow remote control of home devices and appliances. It was the first general purpose domotic network technology and remains the most widely available.

Its both.

I was quite specific when I said "X10 the company", who make wireless remotes, that don't use the X10 protocol, but that those remotes do interwork with X10 PLC kit.

Although the patents covering X10 PLC protocol have run out (and you can read my (I'm told, excellent) summary of X10 patents in the X10 FAQ that I contributed many years ago) the X10 trademarks are still alive and well.
 
You can try the new Zwave products by Intermatic , Leviton , Cooper .
zwave is RF and goes about 75' line of sight.
Very reliable

I think your right.

We have not wired the rough in yet.
But the guy has had it approoved by the city.
They probably missed the roof. Or it was not on the plans.
I think he got carried away when he was building it.
