Well for all you high tech rednecks, why don't you try sending a fax out of your fax / modem card if available.
I'm not talking about the printer software that might handle it.
I'm talking about the just the simple application of using a fax/modem card. That consists of standard and usually minor computer supplied software.
Here's what you might find:
1.) It will not always be WUSIWUG. the receiving end might not look the same, lenght of page might change (format - layout, Etc), and can be as bad
as shrinkage.
(Granted the machines have caught up via computer and computer like interfaces, but just like other things people have and like there various models.)
2.) If in a works file the best is to save as, file to RTF (rich text format) and fax that. I eliminates a lot of #1.
3.)A USER's choice of a font can also changed at the receiving end, if not done to #2.
4.)It's a good way to spot problems in your phone line ...
Most of the newer fax machines handle more like a of computer and very well, but its good software and not so much the fax/modem card that needs to be addressed here.
Now granted in this just in time world, e-mail is the way.
I guess time has passed but I believe that
FAXed legal documents might be more offical than an e-mail.
For shame all of us that don't know or understand all of our tools available.
