ZOG

How did you or how would a person go about getting a job in that line of work?

Either you are a young kid with a great work ethic at the right place at the right time and get hired for peanuts to se if can make it, or you come in as an experienced testing guru and are paid well for it.

The majority of the NETA guys are ex-military and of those most are ex Navy nukes or Army prime power guys.

Would you settle for a satellite? I know a guy who worked on the Hubble and Chandra telescopes and SDI under Reagan in the 1980's. First you have to show Zog how to wire a house.
Gladly! Sounds like a fair trade.

Zog? Really want to learn residential? I can teach you well.

I'd like to go back to wiring houses, I've done enough healthcare, large commercial, industrial, service and office work to last me. I miss getting out of the truck running in the morning to get a house roughed in by the end of the day. Of course, the reality of my age would probably change my mind after a couple of days.

Not really, I would like to do 1 new house wire job just so I can relate to some of the discussions here. I have a basement to finish next year, maybe then.

When I went into the navy, they were trying really really hard to shove the nuke program down my throat because my test scores were so high. (not bragging) I decided against it though, when I found out the attrition rate for it was something over 90 percent before they even finished school. Maybe I should have given it a shot.

They suually dont mention that part, if you dont make it you get whatever job is available.

Maybe I should have given it a shot.

Worked great for me, got some very unique experience/training and 2 degrees out of it.

REALLY???? You wouldn't find that as boring???? Or do you just see that as a relaxing day:confused:

No, after all the years of medium to large commercial deadlines, I guess I am at the point in my career that I would just welcome simpler tasks. I know the physical part of it would be better for me than the desk I spend most of my time at now.

But, I probably would not be satisfied for long before I would want to get back into the war zone.

I completely understand. After completing a large project I am wiped
out. If after a large project, I get something like a small dentist office,
I am filled with joy and can't wait to start .

Just for clarification, I do have fun, I wood work, fish, garden, the problem is, work gets in the way of all these things.

Guess I had one of the few decent recruiters then. MEPS was the one trying to push it on me. I ended up an FC and liked that for the most part anyway.
