From a certain awesome electricians profile..."cooking,star trek, yelling at the local kids to stay off my property or ill call the cops, running "

Am I being challenged to a road race?

I may be a cheap hooker but I'm also a good runner. This is a challenge I will gladly accept.

Well than how did I manage to get myself into Hooters and a couple of White Castles? Ill tell you how, my magnanimous personality and salesmanship.

Yes, your posts tonight certainly display how much of a people person you are.:D

Bob not everything is set in stone my friend.

Actually with many chains it is set in more then stone it is 'Policy' and they have a large machine in place to control it.

I needed tires for one of my vehicles this week. I called just about everyone I could think of and when all was said and done, I bought the cheapest I could find.

I know we deal with people like me everyday and it drives us crazy.
I think this is the mindset of the average consumer and there is nothing you can do about it. In my view, adapt or die.
I hate to get back on topic but was the cheapest price paid for the same quality tires OR was the cheaper price just for cheaper tires??

No, I am sure you worked in the places you said you did.

I just am having trouble seeing the winning personality tonight.:D

This is the side that the customer never see's. But in all fairness there have been a great many discussions on lowering prices to meet demand and there have been many opinions on both sides but for some reason I seem to be the lone wolf on this one. What ever happened to my compatriot Emaler (the King of economices) or Marc (the Great Mouth of the East) or even Celtic ( my fellow Jerseyite)
Emaler was really the one that began to show me the light. Before he steped in I was selling service changes for 1400-1700 bucks because I thought that was all I could get. He even helped me get 6200 for a three phase 200 amp service repair on a building in Jersey City. I was ready to do it for 4000.

Emaler where are you...?...I feel lost without your wisdom and hard nosed economic's. Please see help me

i don't know tony...to me it makes way more sense to earn $100/hr and work 10 hours, then to earn $50/hr and work 20 hrs...same gross at the end....but i don't like working just for the sake of working....others seems to be more concerned with being 'busy' than with making money...

Seriously all, if your busy and the economy has not affected you consider yourself blessed, I have a lot of very talented friends out of work now and prospects for their employment are not looking good right now.

Seriously dude, you laid it out for me about a year ago and I never forgot your words. You really helped me out alot. I dont freak out if I am not "working" every second of the day. And for what its worth to some of the other fellas, marketing and cold calling is just as much work as is wiring a store or something.

Oh Jezz I forgot to mention Bacardi in my list of national accounts. They have a headquarters in NJ on RT 4 and I have been their guy for the past 4 months. And I got in there by working at one of their office employees home. I happened to notice all the Bacardi paper work and before you know it im adding outlets, repairing ups's and stuff like that. Sure small potaoes now but the Pumpkins will follow. And Im not trying to sound like a know it all but how many of you would try to strike up a conversation like that? Its all about thinking outside the box. Im just trying to show you guys (not the 15 plus year vets of course) ways of selling your self.
