If the choice before me is either

A) Work harder for less money

B) Don't work, make no money

I have to say I am going with A.

option A is feasible so long as the money earned is more than needed to cover your costs (whether business or personal)....if it's not, then might as well choose option B...gonna end up in the same place, just a matter of when you are going to arrive there, and how hard you'll work to get there....

it doesn't take a three day seminar to firewalk... you can teach someone
how to do it in about a half an hour..... teaching *why* it's important takes
much longer.

it's really not about fire walking. it's about learning how much fear controls
your life.
I smell a fellow Tony Robbinite. Were have you been all night ive been getting creamed in here.

You really should become a politician with the slanted spin you can put on things.

nope. don't dance to tony robbins... friend of mine taught firewalking seminars
for a number of years. he taught me. it's not a difficult technique. he used to
charge $100 for the workshop, but nobody was turned away for lack of funds.

like he says at the beginning of the evening.... "i coulda done that too" does
not cut it here... you either do it, or you don't. pretty much like life.

as for getting creamed, you *did* come in here to play, y'know.... :D
there are some pretty cool people subscribed here, and some misfits.
just like the rest of the planet... here, however i beleive there is an "ignore"
option on the forum controls, that blocks you from having to read any
thing from someone you don't care for.... however, it doesn't work for
blocking moderators.....

i do get a chuckle out of reading stuff here.... on one hand, people snarling
loudly about cheapskate customers, and on the other hand, driving heavily
loaded vehicles on bald tires, while assuring all who read how well they are
doing with their business model..... :D

one guy will say he just nabbed a contract for $200k, someone else will moan
that he's just small potatoes, someone else will say $200k is just a decent
change order....

and i'm guessing by this time saturday night, more of it is authored by bud,
jack, and johnnie than anyone else.....

me, and my big plans for financial glory? i spent the day with my wife, and
we didn't do much of anything at all. just hung out together. a quiet life, and
time well spent.

That's what I have been saying the whole time.

By the way, I am sitting in front of the tv right now. There is a news report on about how most of the restaurants are lowering their prices becuase sales are down. Yet McDonalds sales are way up.

Based on the responses in this forum by the experts....

Those restaurant owners are fools they should raise their prices because they are better than McDonalds. Sure nobody will be eating there but let's not worry about reality, let's just keep our fantasy alive.

I hate to get back on topic but was the cheapest price paid for the same quality tires OR was the cheaper price just for cheaper tires??

Of course they are cheaper tires, but they do the job and I was able to pay other bills that needed to be paid. I also haggled on the price as I have done for other things lately. It works.

Retired after 40 years as an electrician.
Breathe in, breathe out. Out west here, I can drive for two hours in some of the areas here and not see another person. Doom and gloomers, this time to will pass!

About the tires? My neighbor tells me to go to shop x, mention my name and getting a good deal, problems solved. I didn't even shop the cost of tires, because I actualy trust my neighbor. Paid $178 for two tires, mounted, and ready to rock, at recommended store for tires for my runabout little Saturn.

At 90 MPH rolling down the freeway, the last thing I want to be concerned with is -"Gee, did I get good tires?"

On the other side of the coin, when I get taken for an ugly ride, I will be your worst nightmare.

i don't know tony...to me it makes way more sense to earn $100/hr and work 10 hours, then to earn $50/hr and work 20 hrs...same gross at the end....but i don't like working just for the sake of working....others seems to be more concerned with being 'busy' than with making money...
That's because they "Love" what they do. :)

It makes them feel good that they busted their butt so hard, for so little, while the customer was out boating with their family. If they hadn't given them such a great price they might not have been able to pay for the gas and would've had to stay home. :)

It must be as that is exactly what you said you have done. :D

At my local Home Depot I have worked up a pretty good report with the store manager and I have been putting it in her head that I can save her some money by doing her site light maintenance. I told her she is probably paying some big company way to much for what she has on site. I told her all the pole lights can be reached with a 16 foot ladder and she doesn't need to pay a big outfit with boom trucks top dollar to change bulbs and ballast.
