I hope you are including the poster that you quoted in making this assesment.

This is a group of people. Everyone has their own approach when it comes to interacting with others. That is what keeps it interesting.

Like my father used to say when I complained about something at home..."there are no bars on the windows" :grin:

Now...off to the pharmacy, I need a refill :cool:

We just had 75 people laid off friday when a local car dealership closed its doors. With all these retailers having going out of business sales I thought why not have a staying in business sale.

Um, I disagree with that. What you read as PC and uptight I read as being respectful of others and Mike Holt.

As Bob has had to remind some people, (me included) Mr. Holt is a deeply religious man, and we need to comport ourselves to a higher standard than we would amongst other trades on a jobsite. That includes language as well as showing respect for each other even when we don't agree.

Just as you are free to join up here, you're just as free to leave or not post a reply if you can't hold a civil tongue. I have refrained from posts on many occasions as I can recognize that my input wasn't within those guidelines or was going to start a flame war.

Nothing wrong with being brash sir, but saying you're "officially done here" sounds like a child throwing a tantrum. You have contributed a great deal here from all the posts of yours I have seen. And you seem to have also learned a great deal as well, by your own admission.

So take a deep breath, sit back and think before you type in a reply. It would be a shame to lose your experience here as we all have something to contribute, even though it may not be popular.

Well yeah, the guys that are still working are doing fine, but the guys that got laid off sure took it in the shorts so that those other guys could be doing well.

I make more than I did six months ago too, but that doesn't mean I'll still be working tomorrow. Our division alone is looking to cut over $600K as we will be seeing at least a $6M shortfall as a city.

Seems like it was a shame to lose the experience of Marc as he definitely had tons of valuable info to contribute. He must not have fit in well with the click. You're right it's a shame.

You have no idea of why Marc was banned and he has told everything he wants people to know at the site he moderates, if you need to know more you can PM him at ET and maybe he'll tell you but, out of respect to Marc, we will not go into it here and I will say he was not "railroaded" out.

Now, for anyone that thinks the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, there is nothing keeping you from jumping the fence and as a matter of fact, if you don't like it here I invite you to go and stay.

The way things are run here will not change today, tomorrow, next week, next year, etc... We will try to stay G rated, provide a forum where people can learn, teach, discuss, and not be worried about what their children, pastor, mother, grandmother etc... may read if they are looking over their shoulder.

Take it or leave it.

Sounds good to me, I am married to " Mary Poppins" and I like her to be able to see and discuss the questions on this forum. Her idea of cursing is to say "Goodness", I admit I am a bit (alot) rougher around the edges, yet this is not the place for such words.
