I locked it in favorite places too, I did notice that some of the Images were "x" 'd out, and will not show, is this my CPU, or software transitions that caused this?

If one posts an image from a website and the image is moved or the website is no longer there, then the image cannot be found-- thus the x'ed out.

No doubt in some cases that is the issue, but we have had at least 2 or 3 major software changes and each time we lose a bit of the past.

Scott,

"" the old Text-Only Bulletin Board ""

Do you mean the ones written in CPM or DOS systems,
that we telephone DIALED into, at 300 baud ?

At Univ of TN, Memphis, we wrote a personal bulletin board, in Z80 assembler,
ran on an Altair 8800, linked to some place in Scotland
where our director was taking special classes.

Was there anything before 1980 ?

Is that a post from bennie or mike? either way that is one of the greatest posts ive ever read. It should remind each of us how important each day we have is. Let us remember what truely is important and value those we have in our lives.

I was living in Oregon when Bennie passed. I remember wishing I had heard the news in time to make it to his funeral. His obit (thanks for finding that thread, Bob) speaks of his being from Milwaukee. That is the Oregon city, not the Wisconsin city.

I did a bit of disagreeing with him, from time to time. I don't recall whether either of use wound up conceding any point to the other.

Am I remembering correctly that Bennie was also known for putting forth the argument that there is no such thing as a "sub-panel"?

I got a compliment from Bennie one time.

He said that I was pretty smart for a Hillbilly.....not too dumb for a hillbilly.....something like that.
I still think about some of the things that I learned from him.

He was definitely one of a kind.

I'm on thread 22 right now. He believed Sub panels did'nt
exsist the NEC doesn't reconize a "Sub-Panel" only
Service Equipment.Since there is'nt anything listed as
Premise wiring Equipment then everything is technicaly
Service Equipment.

I'm not done with all the threads but I must ask,
Did you guys EVER convince him that grounding
everything thru the neutral is a dangerous practice?
I must say he put up a very logical fight and I can tell it was
driving all you nuts.He was so against EGC's that almost every
thread leads up to not pulling one and just using the grounded
conductor. I must agree with him on that when it comes to long runs.
Of course I can't per the code.BUt, he really made a great argument.
He believed very strongly on "Isolation and Insulation." and makes
a very educated argument.

I'm absolutely Intrigued by Bennie as I can tell all you are.

Iwire, he gives you the greatest compliment of all after thread after
thread of butting heads with him.
"Iwire you're one hell of a electrician."
I would take that as one hell of an compliment.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the approach that Japan uses. I remember seeing something on TV about Japanese construction and I distinctly remember they used 2 wire romex style cable and ungrounded receptacles.
