in lieu of a Split-bolt

What are some good options for replacing splitbots? In other words I don't like split bolts and want to replace them as I work on connections that already have them installed. It's my "Split-Bolt phase out plan"

theres other companies that make them too. ilsco has them and so does greaves. the polaris are the highest quality.

Ditto on the Polaris connectors. Just put a quick zip of tape around them if you don't want the rubber plugs to fall out though.

I've never used a split bolt for that - always a parallel groove connector

Of course it's my personal view.

If someone wants to use a split bolt, rubber tape and all that jazz in this day and age, fine by me. I just think it's an outdated method, but that's just my opinion.

I thought you upgraded your SOP to use romex connectors.

No, those are too expensive. I just hold the wires parallel and bundle them together with a piece of scrap THHN, and then I tape them up with some "jap wrap."

They are a blight on the electrical trade.

we use split bolts becuase there is no chance it will loosen or break due to temp change or weather. its just been the reliable way weve done it for years.
