If anyone else would like a copy of my Excel formatted estimating spreadsheet; please send an email to :( You'll have to go through each sheet & check to make any changes manually for your company name and info. :(

Any changes in pricing and labor units shold be done in the Menu columns on the "Take-Off Sheet" (Scan Right). All labor units and material prices are based on a "Per Each" or "Per Foot" basis. There is no grouping of items for quote such as single labor unit/price for a duplex-plate-box. Everything is itemized.

This Exel spreadsheet "program" not only is an estimating sheet - but - a Project Tracker :D for material actual cost, Employee Manhour costs and actual hours used, Billing, Change-orders, Addendums, Request for Information from GC & Arch., Demolition, FBO items, and so on.

DO NOT CHANGE any of the formulaes! ;) Happy Hunting and Good Luck!!

Re: Indcom Estimates Spreadsheet..xl

This sounds a little fishy. Are you giving them away for free?

Call me skeptical, but I highly doubt that you would give away something that you've spent years to develop, especially if it could enable your competition. It sounds like a business name on your signature which makes me think even less that your spreadsheet is free.

If you are charging money for your spreadsheet, you are inappropriately using this forum for advertising.

Re: Indcom Estimates Spreadsheet..xl

:D Yep, it's absolutely free for anyone's use.

See, it won't be in competition with me, because you will have to update the material pricing and cost for your area and to suite your needs and requirements. So, in effect it will be totally different than what I use to bid in my area.

No joke, guys! IT'S FREE !!! It's just another way to do a Take-Off and manage the job after you get it.

And, for the record - I don't mind sharing my experience and knowledge with others and I sure don't charge for it. If that makes me a poor business man, then I consider that my option to be generous.

Re: Indcom Estimates Spreadsheet..xl

It's free, he sent me a copy a few days ago. It looks like a nice program, once you figure out how to manage it. I have taken a few of the sheets and used them already. I will still use my EBM program from Vision, but this will help out someone who can't afford a 1,200 dollar program.

Re: Indcom Estimates Spreadsheet..xl

:D I'm this way all the time. Knowledge and Experience should always be shared without cost to others or expecting something in return. Though, curiousity is killing me  ; so I have to ask; what type of estimating methods are you using? don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable doing so.

Re: Indcom Estimates Spreadsheet..xl

I forgot to add, you can give someone all the programs in the world, but if the person has no ideal how to do a takeoff, or understands labor units and what goes into a estimate then all these programs will do is confuse someone or help someone to underbid something.

I am still learning how to estimate, I took Mikes class on estimating and read a couple of books, in return I have been winning bids latley for some well known companies. In case your thinking in the back or your head "ya did you make any money" I made what was forcasted in the bid and a little more by running the jobs well.

Re: Indcom Estimates Spreadsheet..xl

Chris you are so very Right!

That spreadsheet I've donated cannot guarantee a winning bid everytime! All it is for is to help keep everything in one place for all information and for job status & quality control. I mainly designed it for the more experienced estimator but, it can be a good training tool for the less experienced :)
