I have three Rab floodlights I'd like to install under an eve that is made of aluminum material.

What is the best way to install? Use an old work ceiling box recessed into the soffit? Use an outdoor surface mounted box? If so, how would it fasten to the aluminum and not sag?

Any input would be great.. Thanks!

SSpiro,

Do you normally do electrical work or just distribution ?

I'd use a surface-mount box and find a rafter tail above the soffit.

I've never run wire through the eve before.. will I have any issues, you think, running nmb straight down the eve from one fixture to the next? Or will I have issues with rafter tails..

Just electrical work for myself, not for others. I only do what's within my capabilities, which isn't much. I've added new circuits before to my panel, upgraded fixtures/recepts/switches, etc.. but thats about it. One of my best friends is a licensed electrician, so he's usually on hand whenever I venture out into a new project.

Depends on how the structure is framed. Usually, there's a chase all the way across. But not always.
