Insulated staples

My question is why wouldn’t you use them. Every other piece of metal NM goes through needs a bushing of some type, so why are staples any different?

Price.

Installed properly, a plain old metal staple is just fine.

If you truly believe they should be banned, write up a proposal for the 2023.

Does not cost no 30 bucks a bucket, I think it’s around 15-20

Revert to manual methods i.e. beat a standard staple in with the side of your lineman pliers.
There are electric impact hammers that deliver a rapid sequence of blows with a very small impactor travel and not requiring a lot of torque applied to the handle. I have never tried them, but they look like they might work well in tight spaces.

GC speaking — It seems like the low man on the totem pole usually is the one running staples and they love to slam them home pretty tight. It used to really bother me...now unless it’s terribly tight I just roll with it.

I've driven 10 of thousands of non-insulated staples. Never looked back. Training the cubs correctly gets the proper results.
