Job expense

Our expenses are different for every job. Scaffolding, job site office, pulling equipment, high volts, permits, utility fees, coring, etc.. Whatever the expenses are on a particular job, that number will get marked up within the total job overhead and profit percentages.

I break it down to direct and indirect job costs.... And I figure direct costs on what I think it will actually be; permits, travel costs (fuel, hotel, per diem, wear & tear on trucks), phones, equipment, job trailer, depreciation of equipment and tools, etc..... I use a percentage of total labor for things like paying the secretary, mobilization costs, superintendent labor, and so forth. For overhead costs I use a percentage of total job cost based on historical data, and that's about 12%.
