It sure where your from, but the states with the most solar offer the best subsidies and incentives. That’s the only reason places like Cali and others are booming in solar.

take a guess as to why NC is second to Cali in installed solar...
NC had awesome subsidies until they let the state incentives expire and didn’t renew them.
Our solar has slowed WAY down.

I didn’t want to help these solar companies get rich anymore either..

Actually California has no direct solar subsidy left, and has started rolling back net metering advantages, albiet slowly. But as long as the average electricity prices are above 25cents/khw and resi solar costs under 10cents/kwh before the federal tax credit, resi solar is going to be an attractive way to save some money.

I’ve done things myself that I was so slow at, I figured my time was worth a fraction of the minimum wage. The satisfaction of knowing I did it myself and it was done right made it worth it.

I just don't like signing contracts and having strangers in my house.

I had an HVAC problem and I had the schematic for the unit and it showed a SPDT switch.
The HVAC guy onsite called for assistance on his cell and I heard the guy at the other end saying "If he knows what that switch is then he knows more than I do."

Does not exactly inspire confidence in them.
The guys they sent were the "foot soldiers"; the general doesn't bother with politically-unconnected people like me.

I knew they were going to roll some back a few years ago like NC did. Didn’t know they were all gone..

It gives you a measure of your satisfaction.

I've read that money can be used to measure just about anything but I was not so sure.
I guess I'm becoming more sure.

I never considered that before because I don’t think it’s realistic.
But I guess if I could be sure the job was done right, it wouldn’t take much!
