I really doubt that #14 copper gets hot enough to start the cloth on fire even where it is protected by a 30 amp fuse.I've seen the cloth catch fire
I used to say " those K&t homes have great radiant heat in the walls".
K&T does not produce any more heat than any other wiring method operating at the same current on the same size conductor.
I would expect NM to be a much bigger problem than K&T where over sized OCPDs have been used.
