I always locate laundry receptacles just above the machines on the wall. Certainly readily accessible.

AFCI can’t go there, to prevent Insurance from denying claims, and keeping all premiums paid.

Point-of-use devices are not allowed, if required to protect new work raceways, per NEC 210.12

For 240v electric appliances, per 210.8(D), 2-pole devices are not available

I see no such thing in 210.12. Matter of fact, the unicorns are dancing and the sun is shining if you use EMT to that location.
