I assume he's talking about a stack, one which uses just a 30 recep.

right on. What I used to think of as a very simple task and went about doing without even using any brain power has now been turned into something that is now so GD confusing my brain feels like it's about explode! Man oh man some of you guys on here want to make everything so GD complicated. This isn't rocket science. Put a dryer outlet in and put a dedicated 20 amp 120 V washer outlet in and that's it.

Right outside the 'area' where the stack unit is. In the hallway. Nothing says it has to be behind or directly beside the stack unit.

I say not. It is to be installed for the laundry. If the laundry is in this 'area', then that's where the circuit & receps gotta go.

Not unlike trying to put your two SABCs in the garage instead.

I would put it right behind the unit, so in the future when they buy a new washer/dryer unit the required receptacle(s) are in place. Again, not rocket science.
