You didn't explain what you did wrong so I'm taking a wild guess here>

You landed the circuit neutral on the neutral bar instead of on the breaker?

This is new construction and the cost of the combo units was about the same as the afci breakers and the gfci breakers so I bought the combo for everything. I think I may be sorry I did that!

Really? Where'd you buy them? I'd like to grab some to keep in the truck if they're not much more than the just afci. I thought they were $20-30 more.
