A year or so ago we gave a price on putting in some tank top vibrating rod level sensors to replace rotating ones that were mounted on the side of the tanks. Our price was to high. We got the call yesterday to come check the wiring connections for the low bid winner. He replaced the side mounted ones with a different style in the same location. Access requires a crane with a basket. We are going to make more money. with follow up, then had we gotten the bid. :D

The fact that they called you to straighten things out shows they learned a lesson.
My experience is that, although it's a good time for you to make some money. I would be "fair" making sure to let the owner know that you are not further penalizing him.

As tempting as it is I never raise rates. Just my normal service charges.

My price had included moving the location of the sensors so they could be worked on. It takes days and sometimes weeks to get the equipment on location to work on them now. Oh well.

If this looks to be an ongoing maintenance issue, maybe you can talk him into your original concept as an alternative. He can see what this is costing him. It may be a bitter pill for him to take, but another maintenance call for whatever reason and he would be well behind the eight ball, cost-wise.
