this is just funny to me. Can we do anything anymore without Big Brother holding our hands?
I don't want to bust your thinking, but it's not big brother, It's big business, the insurance underwriters are the ones pushing the inspections.

maybe this is true but who do you pay for the permit? I know for me I'm paying the county and they send out the county paid inspector. The insurance doesn't send out an inspector for this.I don't want to bust your thinking, but it's not big brother, It's big business, the insurance underwriters are the ones pushing the inspections.
While there is more voltage and a potential shock hazard with the phone wires when it is ringing, they do not have enough energy to be a fire hazard. Low voltage lighting has enough current to make enough heat to start fires.
yeah this doesn't apply for the simple 12 volt landscape lighting cord for homes. You will never see an inspector give a care about draping this stuff right on top of the ground or across the driveway for that matter.
yet another state I won't ever have to worry about.Maybe not in your area...
Come to see me some day.
yet another state I won't ever have to worry about.
Well it won't be in NY Pierre. The Super Bowl is not in NY. That is the only game where we will see them play each other. Besides the Giants aren't sitting at the top of the pile awaiting their next opponents. They have to play and stay alive just like the rest. Why?
Don't you believe the Steelers will get far enough to play the Giants???:grin:
What does "circuits for control of landscape lighting" mean?
I can't remember ever doing any landscape lighting without a permit.

Think about it, in CT licensed electricians can get paid for installing LV lighting. Is that really a bad thing?
Many third world countries do not make you get permits either.
I read column five as "circuits for control.... AND/OR landscape lighting..."
From the 05 code. Column 5: Circuits for Control of Irrigation and Landscape Lighting.....
6" burial is required, imho.
yet another state I won't ever have to worry about.
The burial depth for LV landscape lighting is 3 in. or less. (or nothing)
