Self-deprecate away, you're still a smart dude. We all miss details from time to time. :D :D :D

Thanks for all your insight on this issue! I spoke with the inspector this morning and he agreed that it was within the code the way it was wired. 300.3(B)(3) was the part that convinced him. He said he's never seen it done that way but that it was legal and made sense doing it the way I did. Thanks again!!!!

Code allows for a two wire switch leg used in a normal single pole situation where the white wire is a current carring conductor to carry current to the switch and back through the black to power the fixture. There should be no difference here, i would think. Its a good arguing point anyway.

Hey Walt!

Good work, rising to the conversation with the inspector.

I think of it as an extension of the conversation we're having here in cyberspace. Clear, good quality discussion yields clearer understanding and agreement.

Aw-w-w. It's so warm & fuzzy, here. :D

Walt763 - found this thread on a search - and I'd like to understand one of of your last comments - how does the inspector usually see a 4-way wired?

Thanks

Brett
